Succulent and Cactus Planter Care

Position: Place them in bright, filtered light. A very bright windowsill is usually a great place to grow many traditional succulents. Usually the brighter the better.

Watering: Check weekly. The best approach is to check by inserting a bamboo skewer or chopstick into the soil in a few spots around the pot. This is the old “baking” trick. If it comes out clean and dry then it is ready to be watered. If it has soil sticking to it, then it is still moist and a few more days are needed before checking and/or watering. Water slowly around the base of each plant over the entire surface but be careful not to flood the pot. With succulents we go by the old motto "when in doubt, dry it out"
