Paphiopedilum Oriental Spice (sukhakulii x superbiens v. curtisii)
There is lots of confusion with this one, stay with me.
Paph. Lemforde Superkuli (sukhakulii x superbiens) and Paphiopedilum Oriental Spice (sukhakulii x superbiens v. curtisii) are technically the same hybrid, yet were registered when superbiens and curtisii were treated as 2 separate species. And to add to the confusion, Oriental Spice is not (sukhakulii x superbiens v. curtisii) but actually (sukhakulii x Curtisii). Curtisii being a primary hybrid between (ciliare x superbiens).
To make things wrse, many breeders have called this hybrid Oriental Spice when using superbiens v. curtisii. when in fact, its Paph. Lemforde Superkuli (sukhakulii x superbiens) using the curtisii form.
I have grown many of these, and I would bet not one of these is the real deal using the hybrid Paph. Curtisii.
Anyway, they are beautiful and tend to be very flat.
SEASON: Typically Winter or Spring, but can bloom anytime
TEMPS: Intermediate
WATERING: Damp but not soggy
LIGHT: Filtered light, no direct sun
